1. Contact the Captain of Degree Team that you would prefer to conduct the degree, and mutually agree on an acceptable data.

2. Contact the Council that will host the Degree and be sure facilities are adequate to host a degree. Also make the Council aware of the cost of the degree. The Degree Captain will verify these expenses with you.

3. You may request your Degree using the Texas State Website.  Sign in by using your membership number and password.

a. On left menus you will find a link titled "Major Degree Request", click the link and that will give you a Major Request Form. Fill out the blanks and click the [Submit] button.

b. The Request will go to the State Deputy for approval. After the Conferring Officer is assigned, you will receive an email confirming that your request is approved. A copy will also go to the Grand Knight and Diocesan Deputy.

4. If you are unable to use the website, you may use the "Major Degree Request Form", which is located in the Programs Manual or on the website under [Downloads].

5. If you have questions or need help filling out forms, you may contact the Ceremonial Chairman for assistance.

6. The Candidates must be identified with a ribbon or stick-on nametag. Third Degree members must not be allowed to mingle with the candidates.

7. For an overnight degree, the host District Deputy and host Council are responsible for supper, breakfast, and a meal following the degree for the Degree Team. The Conferring Officers Expenses are paid by Supreme.

8. Approximately two weeks before the degree, contact the Conferring Officer for any questions or directions that he may need. You may also discuss who will do the Knighting Ceremony. District Deputies that will do the Knighting Ceremony must have a District Deputy Robe.

9. You will also need to contact the Degree Team Captain to assist in any help that the Degree Team may need.

10. The Fourth Degree presence, in Full Color Corps Regalia, will add to the beauty and dignity of the ceremony and this would be at the Mass before the degree
