Texas State Council Charities has two State Educational Grant Programs that are funded from the interest earnings received annually from the Cardinal Humberto Medeiros Trust and Christopher Trust funds managed by the Supreme Council. The two state educational programs are the Catholic School Grants and the Educational Grants.

Catholic School Grants

Texas State Council Charities will award $2,000 per diocese to Catholic Schools. The Bishop of each diocese and the Superintendent or Director of Catholic Education of each diocese will be requested to identify, before March 1, 2008, from one to four Catholic schools within their diocese in most need of financial assistance, and their recommended distribution of the $2,000 contribution. After the State Convention in May, 2008 Texas State Council Charities will mail the grant checks directly to the schools or the grant checks will be presented at a diocesan, chapter or local event.

Educational Grants

Texas State Council Charities will award one $1,000 Educational Grant per diocese and two additional $1,000 Educational Grants to Columbian Squires. Applications for these grants are due March 1, 2008 and the winners will be announced at the State Convention in May, 2008. Make as many copies of the application as you need.
