More than simply a "Blitz", Membership Recruitment should be a Crusade during the 2007 - 2008 Fraternal Year in which the "Quest" of every Grand Knight and Membership Director in Texas will be to bring every eligible Catholic gentleman and his family into the Knights of Columbus. Strive for the Special Council and District Awards for exceeding Membership Goal.

July - The Quest Begins

Order promotional materials from Supreme. Solicit all members to recruit new members during the new fraternal year. Spend July incentivizing your current membership.

August Family Activity

Select one weekend in August to be visible at your Parish. Encourage all members to contact non KC members of the parish regarding membership in the Knights. Pass out copies of the Council newsletter and promotional pamphlets to prospective members and get an e-mail address for each prospective member. Schedule a Family Pool Party or Family Picnic and invite all prospective members & their families to attend. Schedule a 1st Degree at the end of August.

September Breakfast

Corporate Communion with Honor Guard one weekend in September for visibility and parish recognition of the Knights and their families. Serve breakfast to the parish after the Sunday masses on the same weekend. Invite your "Candidates" & their families to participate in both the Corporate Communion and the Parish Breakfast. Add prospects to your "Candidates" email list.

October "Blitz"

Have promotional announcements printed in the weekly parish bulletin. Have Knights and their Knight's Ladies manning a presentation table in the Parish Hall and handing out promotional pamphlets at the doors of the church. Do this on more than one weekend during October. Add prospects to your "Candidates" email list. Schedule a 1st Degree at the end of October.

November Thanksgiving

Give back to the Church and the Community by scheduling a major Charitable or Community Service project. Encourage your membership and your candidates and their families to participate. Schedule a Memorial Service to honor deceased members, invite candidates as well.

December Blessings

Schedule a Christmas Party for Needy Families in your community. Encourage your membership and your candidates and their families to participate. Schedule a 1st Degree at mid-month.

January 2008 - June 2008

At this point your quest should have brought you to a Quick Start of at least half of your annual membership quota for the fraternal year. Your Crusade will be complete when you exceed your annual quota in the second half of the fraternal year. Strive for the Special Council and District Awards for exceeding Membership Goal.

January Quest

Continues Re-order promotional materials from Supreme. Solicit all members to recruit new members during the remainder of the fraternal year. Spend January re-incentivizing your membership.

February Family Activity

Select one weekend in February to be visible at your Parish. Encourage all members to contact non KC members of the parish regarding membership in the Knights. Pass out copies of the Council newsletter and promotional pamphlets to prospective members and get an e-mail address for each prospective member. Schedule a Family Game Night or Pot Luck Dinner with a guest speaker, and invite all prospective members & their families to attend. Add prospects to your "Candidates" e-mail list. Schedule a 1st Degree at the end of February.

March "Blitz"

May Recognition

Schedule a Recognition Ceremony Memorial Day Weekend to honor our servicemen past and present. Encourage your membership and your candidates and their families to participate. Schedule a 1st Degree at mid-month in May to install prospects recruited in April.

June Finish

Complete your Crusade by scheduling a Family activity such as a Family Picnic or Night at the Ballpark. Encourage your membership and all of your candidates with their families to attend. Call every candidate on your list to invite them to attend and to encourage them to join the Knights during June. Schedule one final 1st Degree to conclude the fraternal year & complete the quest.
