Texas State Programs Committee will recognize 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Awards for three of the Youth Activities
programs submitted for consideration by March 15, 2007.
1. STATE SOCCER KICKOFF TOURNAMENT...
The State Soccer Tournament will be held in San Antonio TX on November 18, 2006 at St. Matthews
Soccer Fields, sponsored by St. Matthews Council #8065, San Antonio.
The Diocesan Deputy from San Antonio will arrange for the manpower to register the players, judge the
tournament, set up the goals and registration tables, and complete the score sheets.
The District Deputies should order the Soccer kits for their Councils in May 2006.
If they have not ordered, they should do so at once,. Report the arrival of the kits to the State Youth
Chairman.

The Diocesan Deputy should report the winners to the State Youth Chairman and check that the State
Per Capita for each Council with a participant has been paid or is current as soon as their tournament is
over so the list of players for the State Tournament can be prepared. Include a copy of the
Birth Certificate with the score sheets to the State Free Throw Chairman. Ensure the contestants
are between 10 - 14 years old as of September 1, 2006. Age eligibility of the candidate will be
determined as of September 1, 2006.
Winners will receive a trophy for First, Second and Third Place in each age group. First
place winners will be submitted to the Supreme Council for the National competition. Last year
we had two winners in the National competition, one from Ft Worth and one from Austin.
2. STATE FREE THROW TOURNAMENT…
The State Free Throw Tournament will be held in San Antonio TX on March 17, 2007 at University of
Texas at San Antonio TX.
The Diocesan Deputy from San Antonio will provide the manpower to register the players, set up the
registration tables, and provide score keepers and judges.

2. ST. CHRISTOPHER AWARD
This program is to recognize an outstanding adult Scout leader for their contribution to the spiritual
growth and development of our youth through their direct support of the Scouting program.
The fee for the medal, certificate and the wallet card is to be provided by the Council. The
application to be completed by a Scout Leader is available on the Texas website www.tkofc.org.
