I first want to give a big “Thank You” to Larry Kuciemba, Stanley Pesek, Steve Simons and all of the men and women from the Schulenburg - K of C Council #2902. Without their help this year’s tournament may not have happened. When push came to shove these men and women stepped up and help put things together.
I am still mystified as to what happened this year. It is not unusual to drop 1 or 2 teams a year but this year we had 20 teams not show-up. However we were able to put something together and held the tournament with 20 teams in attendance. The tournament was held on Memorial Day Weekend, in Schulenburg, Texas. We started our day with the first round of games at 8am Saturday morning and the winner of the Over-35 Division (#7230-Houston Angels), was crowned at around 11pm Saturday evening, and the winner of the Open Division (#2433- Hallettsville River Rats) was crowned at around 1am Sunday morning.
On behalf of the Texas State Council and the State Softball Committee we congratulate all of you for attending and all of the winners.

As far as the 43rd Annual State Slow Pitch Softball Tournament, we are planning on holding the tournament once again but gentleman let me just say if attendance does not improve this tournament may be coming to an end.
I would really like your feelings and thoughts on how to improve this tournament, as to when it is played; to number of divisions, to where it is played. I know a lot of you want to see the tournament go somewhere other than Austin. However wherever we go it will need to be somewhere with at least 6-8 fields and all in one location. That is why we have held tight to Austin for so many years, one complex with the number of fields needed and centrally located.
So please let me hear back from you as to why you did not make this year and with any suggestions you may have for future tournaments.
Attached you will find copies of the final brackets. Please note brackets need to be printed on legal size paper and we ask that you please share these results with the other members on your teams. If they want to print a copy results will be posted on the State web site within the next couple of days. (tkofc.org)
