Denton Knights Assist Parish

04/15/2008 - Parish Assistance – A group of men from Denton Knights of Columbus Council (12553) recently came to the rescue of their local parish (St. Mark Catholic Church in Denton, TX) by correcting a serious water problem which had already eroded several temporary portable buildings used by the parish. The work begin in February to build a terrace to divert the water away from the buildings. Once this was completed and the ground dried up, the terrace was landscaped, sod was laid down, and new seed placed on the terrace. The work provided by the Knights of Columbus resulted in a significant cost savings to the parish to correct a major erosion problem. Volunteers included Immediate Past State Deputy Leo Hanus, Chris Coughran, Lance Kendrick, Jose Escobar, Dillon Prendergast, Leo Hogard, John Schuh, Jerry Hawley, Joe Davis, and Tim Schoendorf. Many are shown in the attached photograph.
