Cardinal Medeiros Fellow Application

The Cardinal Medeiros Trust fund was created in May 1981 as part of State Council Charities. The
trust fund was named in honor of Cardinal Humberto Medeiros, former Bishop of the Brownsville
Diocese and who served as State Chaplain of the Texas State Council from 1969 to 1970. The
interest earned from the trust provides the funds for the Texas State Council Charities education
grants program. The goal is to increase the corpus of this fund to one million dollars. As the corpus increases, State Council Charities will be able to increase the number of Educational Grants presented each year.
