Patriotic Event

The Knights of Columbus Council 13520 held their Seventh Annual Patriotic Event on May 26, 2012 on the campus of All Saints Catholic Church.

The event started with mass at 5 pm, food served to all those in attendance in the gym, followed by the program that started at 7 pm.  The Town North Concert Band provided music that covered patriotic themes as well as many golden oldies songs.  The Class Act Tap Dance Group provided lively dance routines from the World War II era.

Acolyte Richard Nelson said the introductory prayer, followed by the presentation of the colors by Color Corps, Christopher Columbus Assembly 2266.  Jeff Schneider acted as the Master of Ceremonies.  The program honored all those military veterans, both men and women, who served in any capacity for their country, not just during war times.  Several film clips were shown highlighting the many heroes who made America successful in every military theater that was fought.

Larry Milliken sang God Bless the USA written by Lee Greenwood, and Frank Bray played taps to end the program.  Grand Knights Jack Ayers thanked all those veterans and their families who were in attendance and praised them for giving their time and talents to America so that freedom may continue to exist in this great country.
