        Please pray for the happy repose of the soul of +ELENA C. ARROYO, who went to join our Lord on February 19, 2012.

        Elena C. Arroyo, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 19, 2012 at St. Dominic Village in Houston. Mrs. Arroyo was born January 23, 1921 in Havana, Cuba to Francisco Cuadra and Julia Aguierre. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Mario N. Arroyo; and brothers, Francisco Cuadra and Gabriel Cuadra. Survivors include her children, The Rev. Mario J. Arroyo, Fernando Arroyo & wife Wylene, Elena Sodano & husband Ralph; Grandchildren, Noah Sodano, Nicole Sodano, Lauren McKeegan and Lindsey Rocker; Great Grandchild, Madalyn Rocker. The three words that most accurately sum up her long and vibrant life are Faith, Family & Cuba. Elena was born and raised in Havana, Cuba and lived in Littleton, Colorado and most recently in Houston at St. Dominic Village. She was intensely Catholic, participating in Prison Ministry and dedicated to the mentally challenged. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The Arroyo family would like to thank the staff at St. Dominic Village for the love and care that they showed Elena.

VISITATION for MRS. ARROYO will be held THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2012 at 5:30 PM at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church, 10503 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77042. The FUNERAL MASS will take place following the visitation at 7:00 PM. The Committal Service will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Colorado later in the week. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions in ELENA’S memory to St. Dominic Village, 2401 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77021-2023.

God of mercy, look kindly on Your servant, +ELENA C. ARROYO, Mother of Brother Knight Rev. Fr. Mario Arroyo who has set down the burden of her years. As she served You faithfully throughout her life, may You give ELENA the fullness of Your peace and joy. We give thanks for the long life of ELENA, now caught up in Your eternal love.  We shall also remember the three words that most accurately sum up ELENA’S long and vibrant life - Faith, Family and Cuba.  We make our prayer in the Name of Jesus, Who is our risen Lord now and forever. Amen.
