Submitted by Brother Knight J.T. Waggoner, Grand Knight St. Monica’s Council 9681, Converse, Texas, Archdiocese of San Antonio

Please pray for JACOB BLACKTHORNE, your typical 13 year old, who on January 22, 2012 was admitted to Methodist Children Hospital in San Antonio with an enlarged heart (three times the normal size). JACOB was then transferred to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. With a 40% survival rate, the doctors want to put him on the transplant list. His favorite school sport is basketball and he plays the trumpet in the band. Jacob’s mother, Maureen, and brother, Brandon, are staying at the Ronald McDonald House at the hospital. Maureen’s deepest fear is losing Jacob and is asking for a miracle.

Almighty God, and merciful Father, to whom alone belong the issues of life and death: Look down from heaven, we humbly beseech thee, with the eyes of mercy upon JACOB BLACKTHORNE now lying upon the bed of sickness and with an enlarged heart, his doctors want to put him on the transplant list: Visit JACOB, 0 Lord, with thy salvation; deliver JACOB in thy good appointed time from his bodily pain, and save his soul for thy mercies’ sake: That, if it shall be thy holy will, we ask for a miracle to cure and to prolong JACOB’S days here on earth, that he may live to You, our Lord, and be an instrument of thy glory, by serving You faithfully, and doing good in his generation. Grant this, 0 Lord, for thy mercies’ sake, in the same thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with you, Lord, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

    PRAY THE ROSARY

Please pray for JACOB and his family during this most difficult time. May they find the strength to battle this disease while the doctors work to find a cure.
