52nd annual Knights of Columbus International Amateur Golf Association (KCIAGA) tournament

The 52nd annual Knights of Columbus International Amateur Golf Association (KCIAGA) tournament will be held in the Montgomery County Area the week of June 8 through 12, 2020.  Father T. A. Bily Council 5921, Willis, Texas is the host Council for the tournament.  The KCIAGA Board of Directors would like to invite you, your family, and any fellow Knights to participate in this tournament.  This 36-hole event will be played at Panorama Country Club and River Plantation Country Club.  These two challenging par-72 courses have a myriad of risk reward holes and gorgeous views.  We start off with a 4-ball scramble on Wednesday at Panorama Country Club that always been a day of fraternity, comradery, and fellowship.  Individual play on Thursday and Friday will be at Panorama Village CC, Panorama Village TX or River Plantation Country Club, Conroe TX.  There are three evening events planned for tournament week.  We start off with a Welcome Social and Dinner on Wednesday, then “Texas Bar-B-Que” on Thursday and the Awards Banquet on Friday.

We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new friends.  This year’s headquarters hotel is the Fairfield Inns and Suites, in Conroe TX.  We will play golf at Raven’s Nest Golf Course, Huntsville, TX and Panorama Country Club, Panorama Village, TX.  These two challenging courses are waiting to challenge you and reward you.  Please send in your entry form early as hotel space is limited and it is anticipated for this tournament to fill quickly.

The International Golf Association of the Knights of Columbus was founded in the state of Missouri in 1969 by an association of men headed by Brother Jim Gormley, our first President, for the purpose of providing an opportunity to Knights of Columbus members, on national and international levels, to fraternize and enjoy the sport of golfing.  The name of the Association was changed to its present title, KCIAGA, to assure that its tournaments were open only to amateur golfers who are Knights of Columbus members in good standing. Through the use of a handicapping system even the less skilled golfer has the opportunity to win a tournament award. The tournament and its family social events promote the principle of fraternity and closer ties in brotherhood.

The first tournament in July, 1969 and the 50th Golden anniversary tournament were held in St. Louis, Missouri.  So far, the tournament has been held in over 48 cities in the United States and Canada.

Enclosed or attached is the entry forms for the 2019 Knights of Columbus Texas State Softball Tournament and these entry forms are due by June 8, 2019. Remember as a team manger it is your responsibility to have all the documentation needed to complete your team's entry form. To complete your team's entry you must inclu de, completed entry form this means all names, membership numbers and council numbers, the council or councils supreme membership rosters (dated June 1, 2019), and a check for the full entry fee of $285.00. The entry fee for entries postmarked by June 8, 2019 or earlier is $285.00, entries postmarked after June 8, 2019 is $360.00. Brothers last year some of you submitted half completed entry forms, and no Supreme Membership Rosters just to beat the entry deadline , so you wouldn't have to pay the late entry fee. You also waited until the last minute to submit your team' s entry, so there was not time to return them to avoid the lat e fee. Starting this year if you submit an incomplete entry form, it will be returned to you and if you have waited until the last minute to submit it and by it being returned you go past the June 4th deadline you will be subject to the late fee of $75.00, it's your choice.

I am going to ask when completing the team entry form please type or print. Sometimes a player's name does not appear on the player's registration sheet whe re it should be because it is misspelled and please do not use nicknames? If a persons name shows up on the supreme member ship roster as John Doe then don't sign him up as George Doe. Also please make sure your players know which division they are playing in, the teams name and their council number.
