Baseball fans. We had a fun time on Saturday night, May 25th. Final score: Frisco Roughriders 2, Midland Rockhounds 1 in nine innings. Our group of 47 members and family was part of 5,000-6,000 in attendance. We were under a constant threat of storms but somehow managed to stay clear. The temperature was extremely warm and muggy, however. Game play was just over 3 hours.
Frisco scored 2 runs in the fourth inning and they had a total of 3 hits in the game. Midland’s 1 run was scored in the fifth inning with a total of 6 hits in the game. Both teams are tied in the standings with 29 wins and 17 losses. We could see them in the playoffs later this year.
The ‘Riders team has four mascots roaming around the park entertaining the fans. They are Duece, Daisy, Ted E Bear, and Bull Moose. Bull Moose stopped by our section and one of our member’s granddaughters was ecstatic. She jumped up, gave him a big hug, and blew him kisses before posing for a picture or two. Before leaving our seat section he stopped by my seat and, after tapping the 3rd degree emblem on my shirt, he pointed back to himself. I asked him if he was Knight of Columbus and he nodded yes (he isn’t allowed to speak). Isn’t that awesome?
