Waco’s Council 13005 wins Membership Drawing!
On July 16, Supreme Secretary Charles E. Maurer drew the winners of the Order’s membership and programs incentive initiated in honor of Pope Francis. Through this incentive, councils were rewarded for recruiting new members into the Order and conducting service outreach programs between April 1 and June 30. The winning grand knights and their wives along with membership directors and their wives (for the membership portion of the incentive) and program directors and their wives (for the programs portion) will receive all expense paid trips to Italy that include tours of Rome and Assisi.

Council 7965 donates $2,000.00
St Helena Knights of Columbus Council 7965 donates $2,000.00 of their Bingo Earnings, to the Allied Woman’s Center of San Antonio Texas, at their location at 102 Marshall Street. The check presentation was made to Teri Haring, who is the Director of Allied Woman’s Center by Tony Razzino Bingo Director on June 13th, 2013 of St Helena’s Council 7965.

Council 9884 Celebrates 25 Years!
On July 16, 1988, thirty men from the Lewisville area of Texas were officially granted a charter to be Knights of Columbus Council #9884. The men and their ladies of the Council gathered on the evening of August 10, 2013 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their Council’s founding.

Council 10463 Helped with Vacation Bible School
Our Lady of the Lake Council 10463, at Lago Vista, Texas assisted the parish Vacation Bible School (VBS) program from June 10-14, 2013. The program theme was “Athens, Paul’s Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth.” Thirty-five children participated in VBS with eighteen adult supervisors.

The Duncanville Knights & The Little League World Series

1st Degree Team Gets High Marks
It doesn’t take very long when talking to Tom Greco about the 1st Degree Team to realize how dedicated and committed he is to it’s success.  He described his experience when he was inducted into the Knights of Columbus on November 13, 2007 at Council 799 in Dallas as “the most intensely inspirational experience I’ve ever had – the robes, the darkened room the old-time language….”.

Yes, we have gone back to using the Pro teams for our Football Sweepstakes Program.  I asked the question, and most of the District Deputies and Grand Knights I talked to wanted the Pros back.  The NFL has started its season with the draft and putting the teams together.  We need to do the same.  We KICKED OFF this season by beginning the distribution of the tickets at the State Convention last month.  Those Grand Knights and delegates that took their tickets should start now to put YOUR team together to handle the sale withinRead More
