Yesterday afternoon, SK Ray Murphy PFN and Past GK of assembly 2139 and council 7438 passed away. Ray was an active member of the Greenville council and assembly for over 20 years and even when his health began to restrict his involvement in monthly activities, he was always ready to help in the organization and planning of special events
He was involved with the knights from the first day he became a member of the Knights of Columbus up until his last. Ray was at the council Mayfest event held this past Saturday (May 20th) and spoke with several brothers and their wives. His passing has been a major shock to all those who knew him.
Over the years Ray has touched many as a knight or as a friend. Please keep Ray and June in your prayers.
I served as an alternate member of the council's old 1st degree team, District Deputy & as District Master while Ray served as Degree Team Captain, GK & FN, it was my great pleasure to call him not only a brother but a friend.
Rest in Peace my friend!
God Bless,
SK Pat Conway, TSC Master of the Sword,
Almighty and Merciful Father, look with favor on our Brother, Mindful that fraternal charity reaches beyond the confines of this earth, we pray you grant eternal rest and happiness to our departed Brother. Let us not be like those who have no hope;
enlighten us to see your good and gracious purpose working in all the sorrows, which you send us. Comfort us with your grace and grant that, after a devout and Holy Life, we may enter into life everlasting with our beloved Brother. Amen
