Pat Conway, Chairman

Since 1882 ...139 years of existence Membership Recruitment

What have we learned?

Are we stepping up to make the difference?

We have learned more than Fr. McGivney could have imagined in 1882 we could.

If we do not continue to offer the opportunity to join us in the ranks of knighthood to every practical Catholic male, then in the truth of the matter is... Are we not just going through the motions? And aren't we claiming a heritage we have only received but forgot to complete our commitment? Recruiting members to this order is in fact ... a DUTY!

And with all the assistance councils have accomplishing goals make it amazingly simple. Just following the steps to achieve Star Council.

There is not a secret to achieving your goals. Be present, talk to everyone letting the world around you know how proud you are to be a Knight of Columbus. You would be surprised who is listening and even surprised where your word travels. Our wives hear us. Wives get more wives to get their husbands to join because they want to be with their girlfriends enjoying this too.

Members are joining online and with great numbers across the Order. We need to address those candidates promptly.

And as our churches are reopening their doors for parishioners, we need to be standing there as well welcoming everyone back.

The question is not what project to promote to a candidate to get them to join. The question is how I explain the overwhelming benefits of being my brother. The best is by your example.

A song is brought to mind about a boy and his dad. The message repeated is, "I've been watching you, now ain’t that cool, I want be like you, ‘cause I've been watching you." Brothers when you least expect it someone is watching you. Your example speaks more than a thousand words. It might be a clergy, a prospective member, a wife, widow, or child. When you least suspect it, "someone is watching you".

I believe that in June 2022 we will say that our membership goals were achieved this fraternal year.

Because the gift of empowered knowledge to evangelize not only our faith but the Order as well has been given and received.

Because we are forever in a forward motion as members of the Knights of Columbus.

Because the brother Knights in Texas have accomplished our tasks and as brothers look forward to continuing leading the Order.

In closing......I stand, as I have always, as a member of the Knights of Columbus, there to assist all my brothers to the best of my ability.

I am not changing, if you need help, I am only an email or phone call away.
