Chaplain of the Year
The Texas State Council has established the Monsignor James M. Kirwin, Chaplain of the Year Award to be given to a Council Chaplain. This is for the grateful recognition of his exemplary commitment to provide extraordinary service and inspirational leadership as chaplain, mentor and guide not just to the council but to the parish as a whole. This form can be found on the State webpage www.tkofc.org under Downloads: Texas State Council Forms. This form is due to the State Office by March 1. We will recognize the recipient of this award at the State Convention Banquet.
State Service Program Award (STSP)
Councils should submit their best program from each category (Faith, Family, Community, Life). The State Council Service Program Award form (STSP) is located under the Officers Online Forms tab. This form along with additional photos, articles, and supporting material as explained on the form is due to the State Office by March 1. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for each category. The winners will be announced at the State Convention.
Family of the Year
Each year, the Texas State Council recognizes one special family from among many. This family should be from one of the Family of the Month applicants that had been submitted to Supreme during the year. This Form can be found under the Officers Online Form tab and is due at the State Office by March 1. The recipient of this award will be recognized at the State Convention dinner. The family will go on for possible selection as the Supreme Family of the Year.
Service Program Personnel Report Form 365 – Due Aug 1
This form lists the Council appointed personnel who will serve as Program Director, Faith, Community, Family, Life, and Membership Directors. It also lists Recruitment and Retention committee, Insurance Promotion, Vocation Chairman, Health Services and Public Relations. Not all positions need to be filled; however, Program Director, Community Director, Family Director, Membership Director, and Retention Chairman ARE required. Council officers can also be directors. For a complete explanation of each of these positions, please refer to the Duties & Responsibilities of Council Officers & Directors (#4241E). This can be ordered through the Officers Online under council supplies. There is no charge for this publication and should be provided to each officer and director.
Safe Environment Training
All Grand Knights, Program Directors, Family Directors, and Community Directors are required to take the Safe Environment Training. Also required are any Chief Counselor and Adult Counselor. The Family Director, Community Director, and Counselors also require a background check. Once the Service Program Personnel Report (Form 365) has been submitted, Supreme will send a notification to those who require the training. This training needs to be done as soon as possible after receiving notification. Failure to do this training will disqualify the council for Star Council Award.
